Slimbridge WWT Sightings 9/12/12

Lots of sightings due to the flooded fields and there was some great wader displays when all the waders were in the air and then a perigrene flew under making the waders spooked and the ducks alert.

  • 1 LONG BILLED DOTWICHER was breifly sighted flying over with the black tailed godwits

WAXWINGS at Bradley Stoke (Bristol area)

Some great sightings of the 35+ WAXWINGS which have arrived at the Tesco Extra this winter due to the influx. There have been other sightings of waxwings throughout Bristol and there have been some great photos on http://avonbirding.blogspot.co.uk/

This weeks bird sightings from the garden.

Lots of:
  • Goldfinches
  • Chaffinches
  • House sparrows
  •  5 blackbirds
  • Gulls flew over everyday 
  • Blue and great tits have been heard and seen.
  • Jackdaws
  • Rooks
  • Carrion crows
  • Magpies have been seen all week
  • Also a JAY was sighted down the road.
  • Redwing
  • Fieldfares have been seen feeding and flying over the berry bush 2.
