SARA- Severn Area Rescue Association in Sharpness sightings.

As it was high tide for the River Severn there was only a few birds which were:
                                                                         Curlew
                                                          
Great crested grebe
  • 2 cormarants
  • 1 Great creasted grebe which has bred here this year and raised 4 young but the young and adult has left leaving only one parent seen on the Marina.
  • 5 wigeon were feeding on the remaining mud.
  • 18 mallard ducks were on the Sharpness- Gloucester canal.
  • 3 coots on the canal.
  • 7 REDWING flew past the marina.
  • 12 LINNETS in a flock flew past the Marina.
  • 20 GOLDFINCHES usually in numbers of about 10 in the wood by the Marina.
  • 1 blue tit on path down to the Marina.
  • 30 lesser black backed gulls floating and feeding on the River.
  • 1 Pheasant unusually heard from the other side of the River in the Forest Of Deen.
  • 1 shelduck flew past the Marina.
  • 1 Great black backed gull flew past the Marina
  • 20- 30 feral pigeons flying around Sharpness Docks
  • Herring and black headed gulls were sighted on the Severn and flying past. 
  • 2 mute swans on the canal
  • 1curlew flew quickly past the Marina
